SAP Services HMS has a network of qualified Substance Abuse Professionals who are fully informed about 49 CFR, Part 40. DOT Regulations 382-605 states that any driver who engages in alcohol use or drug abuse shall be evaluated by a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). A Substance Abuse Professional is defined as a person who evaluates employees who have violated a DOT drug and alcohol regulation and makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up testing and aftercare.

What makes a Qualified SAP? Knowledge and clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of substance abuse related disorders. Trained on DOT regulations.
